It's Survey Time!

Hi everyone! Backer surveys for Starkhollow Hall have just gone out, so I wanted to make a quick update and let you know what to expect from them:

First, if you haven't received your survey, please give it about 24 hours and check your spam folders before contacting me. Sometimes survey rollout can be a little slow, but you should have it in your inbox by noon tomorrow at the very latest. If you don't have your survey by then, please email me directly at [email protected], and I will look into it for you.

Second, you will not be able to change pledge levels or add certain items to your order in Backerkit. This is intentional, as both the physical zine for Flowers Withered on the Stem and the Mystery Box are limited-run items that are no longer available now that the campaign has ended. You can still purchase the PDF of Flowers Withered on the Stem if you want a copy of the adventure but missed the window.

Surveys will remain open until mid-June, so you will have plenty of time to fill them out. After surveys are locked, you'll still be able to do things like change your address or credit card info if your reward requires shipping. If you're a non-US backer with rewards that require shipping, you will not be charged shipping at this time. Shipping will be charged shortly before rewards go out toward the end of the year. You will get an update shortly before that happens so you won't be taken by surprise.

Other than that, you can sit back and relax. I'll post once a month to update you on Starkhollow Hall's progress and any administrative things you may need to know. Once again, thank you so much for supporting this project, and I hope you enjoy the finished game!

Hi everyone! Just a quick update about backer surveys for Starkhollow Hall; they will likely go out next week, preferably on Monday. Before all surveys can be released, however, Backerkit does something called a "smoke test," which sends surveys to a small percentage of backers to make sure everything is working correctly, before releasing the whole batch. Smoke test backers are chosen at random via Backerkit, so if you recieve your survey early, it's likely you're part of the smoke test. If not, look for your survey next week, and I'll make sure to update you again once all surveys are out.

Hi everyone! I'm just dropping in to let you know that I haven't forgotten about you, I'm just waiting for Backerkit to get back to me. It should hopefully only be a few more days before surveys go out, so hang tight until then. Once surveys are live, you should be able to make any changes or additions to your rewards, update your address, and provide a credit card for shipping charges if you're an international backer.

Other than that, there's not much to tell. Revisions for the main book will begin in April, and I've already begun work on the first Mystery Box. The bulk of writing for Flowers Withered on the Stem should occur in May, and layout for both zines will happen over the summer. I'll continue to keep you updated on a monthly basis as progress continues. Thank you for being patient, and look for another update once surveys are ready to go out.

We Did It!

The campaign for Starkhollow Hall has concluded with a grand total of $2100 for 300% funded, 82 backers, and 140 community copies, which will be available on itch once the game is released (sidebar, I'm also looking to donate some of these copies to gaming clubs and after school programs, so please hit me up if you know of one that would be a good candidate). Now that the campaign is done, I'll be taking a few days off to rest and recuperate, but expect a Backerkit Survey to arrive in the next couple of weeks.

There will also be a pre-order store for those who missed the campaign, though some rewards--like those from the Haunt tier, and Flowers Withered on the Stem's physical zines--will no longer be availableto be purchased . I'll check in again right before surveys go out, explaining any specifics that might be involved for shipping or add-ons. I'll also continue to give you monthly updates on the game's progress right up until rewards are ready to ship.

Once again, I'd like to thank you for your help in bringing Starkhollow Hall to life. I have always wanted to make this game, and you've given me the chance to do it. I cannot tell you how much I appreciate your assistance, and I hope you enjoy the game just as much as I do!

Time's Almost Up!

We've now reached the final hours of Starkhollow Hall's crowdfunding campaign (technically the final 30 hours, but I didn't want to wait to post this at 3:00 AM when it would be exactly 24). At this point in time, we've raised over $1900, adding and additional 10 community copies to the tally. But, instead of doing another lore drop, in true Starkhollow Hall fashion, I'm going to let you in on a secret...

I mentioned earlier in the campaign that, if we managed to raise $2000, there would be a small surprise available to all backers. Now that we're so close, I can tell you what that surprise will be: a fillable digital character sheet that will accompany all PDF copies of Starkhollow Hall! While this is a little thing, I know exactly how useful it is to have a digital character sheet that helps keep track of all of your characters' progress and abilities, and I like to try to offer them for Drowning Moon Studios' games when I'm able.

For now, I'm headed to bed, to make sure I'm rested for the last day of our campaign tomorrow. I look forward to celebrating this milestone with you, and I hope that you too get a peaceful night of rest without too many things that go bump in the night!
