Hi everyone! It's time for another lore drop, and we are currently sitting just shy of $1100 and 10 more community copies. You can help us reach our goal by spreading the word about Starkhollow Hall--repost, retweet, link and share, or just talk about the game with your friends.

As for today's tidbit of lore...

Just beyond the athletic fields is the Alabaster Stair; high cliffs formed from chalky, white limestone above a raging sea. Ostensibly, students aren't allowed near them without supervision, but sometimes curiosity wins. A popular place for clandestine meetings, or indulging in spirits filched from the kitchen, there's a rumor that an argument a few years back led to at least one student falling to her death. No one can seem to remember her name, but when a strong wind whips through the Alabaster Stair it echoes with a young girl's screams.

Overnight, the campaign for Starkhollow Hall reached $1000! That means 10 more community copies will be available on itch once the game is released, and it's time for a new tidbit of game lore.

Headmistress Harclay, the head of Starkhollow Hall, is an imposing and mysterious figure. Though rarely seen, her presence looms large over students and teachers alike. Those who catch her eye are called to her office for tea and come back... changed. To what end, is anybody's guess.

Starkhollow Hall has reached $100+ past its funding goal, which means I'll be adding 10 community copies of the game on itch once it's released! I'm also releasing new tidbits of game lore for every $100 above our funding goal, so here's the first of those:

Thanks to our map, you may have gathered that Starkhollow Hall is four stories tall--or at least four visible stories. There's also a warren of catacombs and tunnels beneath the school that no one has been brave enough to map. Rumors persist that a student got lost down there many years ago, and still remains to this day. She roams the catacombs at night, subsisting on rats and fungi and, when all is quiet, if you listen hard enough, you can faintly hear her wistling a jaunty tune...

That's all for now! I'll continue to keep you updated as the campaign progresses.

We did it!

Starkhollow Hall reached its funding goal shortly before 12pm Est. today and I couldn't be happier! Gothic horror fiction is one of my great loves, so I'm really excited to bring a game inspired by those themes to life. Now that we've funded, however, let me tell you what happens next.

Next Steps

The campaign for Starkhollow Hall will continue through March 4th, 2022. Along the way, every time we raise $100 past the intial goal of $700, I'll update you with a new bit of lore about the setting. Also, for every $100 raised, I will create 10 community copies of the game to be claimed on itch.

Going into this weekend, I won't be as immediately available, but I'll still be checking in from time to time to see how things are going. Expect the next update, and any lore tidbits unlocked, to occur on Monday afternoon. Until then, please continue to spread the word about Starkhollow Hall, and I hope you all have a great weekend. Thank you once again for your support, I couldn't do any of this without you!
